Composer and cellist, the two activities are connected in my musical research and nourish each other. My work favors collaborations with other artists, as well as creations that connect my social commitment to my artistic work.
In my work as a performer, I have privileged collaborations with composers, working in the intimacy of the fabric of sound. I have premiered solos and concertos by Rebecca Saunders, Chaya Czernowin, Mauro Lanza, Philippe Leroux, Francesca Verunelli among others.
Composition emerged from my research as a musician, initially as a diary of improvisations as part of my daily instrumental practice, before becoming a research of its own that developed independently. I studied composition at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg with Johannes Schöllhorn.
I was a fellow at Villa Médicis in 2023-2024. I was laureate of SuperPhoniques in 2024 (the new name for the Grand Prix lycéen des compositeurs) with my piece toucher un souvenir for vocal ensemble, and received the SuperPhoniques des professeurs.e.s de lycées. In 2025, I’m a fellow at Civitella Ranieri. In 2019, I won the Luc Ferrari competition, and in 2021 I composed je suis honorée d’être née dans ta tête for a narrator and three musicians, based on texts by Babouillec, produced by La Muse en Circuit.
Recent collaborations include creations for Donaueschinger Musiktage, Ultraschall festival, Radio-France, Fondation Banque Populaire, Transit (Festival 20-21), HCMF, Centre Henri Pousseur, Ensemble 2e2m, Ensemble Schallfeld (Graz), Ensemble LUX:NM, Asa Akerberg and Shizuyo Oka (Ensemble Recherche).
I studied cello at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin and Lübeck with Joseph Schwab and Troels Svane. In 2004-2005 I was academist at the Ensemble Modern (Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie). I perfected my contemporary cello technique with cellists Siegfried Palm, Pierre Strauch and Rohan de Saram. In 2005-2006, I was principal cellist of the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra but subsequently decided to concentrate on contemporary music and on the premiere of new works. In 2008-2009, I was a resident artist at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart.
Thanks to the Harvard French Scholarship Fund and an Arthur Sachs Fellowship, I was a visiting fellow at Harvard University in 2014/15. In 2015-2016 I was visiting artist at CCRMA/Stanford University.
I have also composed for the cinema two original scores for feature films by director João Pedro Rodrigues, The Ornithologist (2016) as well as Where Is This Street? or With No Before And After (in co-direction with João Rui Guerra da Mata).
My solo album Solitude was released on the Aeon/Outhere label in 2015 and my first album as a composer Inconnaissance was released on the label All That Dust.
Dans mon travail d’interprète, j’ai favorisé les collaborations avec les compositeurs, dans l’intimité de la fabrique musicale. J’ai créée des solos et concertos de Rebecca Saunders, Chaya Czernowin, Mauro Lanza, Philippe Leroux, Francesca Verunelli entre autres.
La composition a émergé de ma recherche de musicienne, au début comme un carnet d’improvisations faisant partie de ma pratique instrumentale quotidienne avant de devenir une recherche propre qui s’est développée indépendamment. J’ai étudié la composition à la Musikhochschule de Freiburg avec Johannes Schöllhorn.
J’ai été pensionnaire à la la Villa Médicis en 2023-2024. Je suis lauréate de SuperPhoniques 2024 (le nouveau nom du Grand Prix lycéen des compositeurs) avec ma pièce toucher un souvenir pour ensemble vocal et reçoit le SuperPhoniques des professeur.e.s de lycées. En 2004-2005, j’ai été académiste à l’Ensemble Modern (Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie). J’ai perfectionné sa technique de violoncelle contemporain avec les violoncellistes Siegfried Palm, Pierre Strauch et Rohan de Saram. En 2005-2006, j’ai été violoncelle solo de l’Orchestre de chambre de Toulouse, puis ai décidé de me concentrer sur la musique contemporaine et sur la création de nouvelles œuvres. En 2008-2009, j’ai été artiste résidente à l’Akademie Schloss Solitude de Stuttgart.
Grâce au Harvard French Scholarship Fund et à une bourse Arthur Sachs, j’ai été ‘visiting fellow’ à l’Université de Harvard en 2014/15, en 2015-2016 j’ai été ‘visiting artist’ au CCRMA/Stanford University.
J’ai aussi composé pour le cinéma deux musiques originale de longs métrages du réalisateur João Pedro Rodrigues, ‘The Ornithologist’ (2016) ainsi que Where Is This Street? or With No Before And After(en codirection avec João Rui Guerra da Mata).
Mon album solo Solitude est paru sur le label Aeon/Outhere en 2015 et mon premier album en tant que compositrice Inconnaissance sur le label All That Dust.
